Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from GLNG

GLNG is setting up its first 24 MMSCFD capacity LNG plant in Abeokuta, Ogun State. In its starting phase, 7 MMSCFD capacity plant is currently under development. It is deploying state-of-the-art technology for the production of Liquefied Natural Gas. It will serve from a strategically located compression station in Abeokuta.

GLNG will offer the following once its LNG plant is commissioned

✓ A mobile gas distribution solution that meets international safety standards

✓ An economically viable proposition for Industrial customers

What is Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) ?

LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) is natural gas cooled to the point of liquefaction i.e. -162 deg Celsius. It is non-corrosive and non-toxic. It is 600 times denser than gaseous natural gas (3 times denser that CNG).. During the cooling process some components of natural gas such as water, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, sulfur compounds, and other heavy hydrocarbons are removed, thereby leaving almost pure methane >90%. The percentage of Methane in LNG is more as compared to any other general fuel available in Nigeria.
