Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)

For your industrial process requirements

What is Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) ?

LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) is natural gas cooled to the point of liquefaction i.e. -162 deg Celsius. It is non-corrosive and non-toxic. It is 600 times denser than gaseous natural gas (3 times denser that CNG).. During the cooling process some components of natural gas such as water, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, sulfur compounds, and other heavy hydrocarbons are removed, thereby leaving almost pure methane >90%. The percentage of Methane in LNG is more as compared to any other general fuel available in Nigeria.

Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from GLNG

GLNG is setting up its first 24 MMSCFD capacity LNG plant in Abeokuta, Ogun State. In its starting phase, 7 MMSCFD capacity plant is currently under development. It is deploying state-of-the-art technology for the production of Liquefied Natural Gas. It will serve from a strategically located compression station in Abeokuta.

GLNG will offer the following once its LNG plant is commissioned

✓ A mobile gas distribution solution that meets international safety standards

✓ An economically viable proposition for Industrial customers

Benefits of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)

  • Long distance delivery: As compared to CNG which is commercially viable up to 200 km radius, LNG can be transported longer distances of up to 1000 km without any losses and being economically viable

  • Storage Capability: There are storage facilities for LNG at pocket friendly prices

  • Easy to Control/Correct Metering compared to Diesel: With natural gas, you can easily monitor and control your fuel/feed stock expenses and costs, without the fear of short-supply or spillage.

  • More Environment-Friendly: Natural gas is far more environmental friendly, as it has much lower sulphur content than liquid fuels. It also burns more efficiently.

  • Full Support from GFL: Complete engineering support from GFL team from concept to commissioning free of cost. GFL also assist its customers in Statutory Compliance for CNG.

Applications of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)

  • Generation of Power: Power generated using LNG is cost effective and also helps in reducing the carbon footprint in Nigeria. Gas fueled engines are effectively replace the usage of diesel engines.

  • Primary Fuel: Natural Gas are used as primary fuels for manufacturing Industries dealing with furnaces, burners and also as raw materials.

  • Natural Gas Vehicles: In the recent past, Natural Gas has become an alternate fuel for automotive as they are economical and environmental friendly fuel
